More courses are planned for June and September 2010. Dates and locations will be confirmed shortly.
The courses are open to everyone, whether you are a complete beginner, a more confident painter or an artist kick-starting your creative juices. Please note that there are only 12 places on the courses.
What you need to bring: The price includes tea, coffee, a buffet lunch and basic materials (primary oil colours, sketching paper, a variety of boards). If you need an easel or stool please let us know, and if want to bring your own canvasses, paints etc equipment that's fine.
The Course: We will begin with a tour of the grounds - the lake, the woods, the buildings - looking at different kinds of composition and choosing suitable sites. There will be some visual exercises to get everyone experimenting, stretching their abilities and playing with different ideas.
Through both days there will be on-going instruction on oil-painting techniques, composition, drawing, colour theory and practise, according to individual need and in response to what emerges from the participants.
Fee: £120 for 2 days, via Paypal from this website or cheque. Please e-mail stephanie.douet@btopenworld.com or call 01263 734 137 to ensure availability

Landscape Painting Classes
The 2 day landscape painting course at Bayfield Hall was a terrific success. While Chloe Mandy cannot take credit for the impeccably beatific weather or the historical loveliness of the parkland, she can be praised for being an inspiring and tactful teacher.
The warm responses of the people on the course encourage us to plan more for next year. Hunworth Hall is an enchanting small manor house near Holt, with a famously fabulous garden designed and made by its owners in the style of a classical Dutch garden.
Spreading from the step-gabled house, the shallow valley is crossed with formally clipped and shapely trees, geometrically planned amidst the natural landscape of the Glaven Valley.
